What’s New in Hootsuite

We’ve updated Composer so you can still see what’s happening in the background. You can also minimize mid-compose and come back to your draft messages later.

Mentions and hashtags are now hyperlinked in previews to reflect how they’ll look when published, helping you ensure you’ve entered them correctly. You can click on mentions to verify you’ve tagged the correct page or profile. Clicking on a hashtag gives you a view of who else is using that hashtag.

Report configuration options—including exporting, sharing, or scheduling a report, adding metrics, and filtering—are now easily accessible in the header of your reports.

When publishing to Instagram from the latest versions of the iOS and Android apps, you’ll automatically be prompted to crop your image if its aspect ratio doesn’t meet Instagram’s requirements.

Choose from five new bidding strategies when creating Google Ads campaigns:

• Maximize clicks

• Target cost-per-acquisition (CPA)

• Target return on ad spend (ROAS)

• Target outrank share

• Target search page location

Hootsuite Ads users can now quickly create a PDF report for Google or Facebook campaigns directly from the campaign’s dashboard.

You can now use Google to sign in to Hootsuite. If you previously used Google+ to sign in to Hootsuite, you can now use Google as your sign-in method.

When composing messages in the new Composer, you now have the option to select a team when selecting which social network to post to. Selecting a team from the list will also select the social networks associated with that team.

You can now review ads in full-screen and test interactive creative, such as carousel ads and video, within the campaign approval workflow.

You can now measure the performance of videos you share on LinkedIn with new metrics including views and time watched.

When testing multiple audiences, you can now split test saved audiences created on Facebook against saved audiences created in Hootsuite Ads.

When replying to a comment from the Instagram Business My Post stream, the Instagram handle being replied to is now automatically added to the reply.

You can now import your saved audiences from Facebook into Hootsuite Ads when creating Facebook ad campaigns.

You can now copy existing campaigns or campaign drafts, or delete completed campaigns or unused drafts. Plus, new filters make it easier to find and access your draft campaigns.

You can now clone an existing ad group when building or editing your Google Ads campaigns.

Easily monitor what your audience is saying about your LinkedIn content, and quickly respond to public comments on your posts in Inbox through the Hootsuite dashboard and mobile app.

The Streamchat Basic app helps you easily monitor and respond to Facebook messages and comments.

You told us that viewing and exporting analytics reports was sometimes slow. We’ve worked to improve your experience—and reports and overviews are now loading up to 10x faster.

Impact customers that need to report on a custom engagement rate specific to their business KPIs can now create custom calculated metrics. To have a custom calculated metric enabled, contact your customer success representative.

Enterprise customers can now filter scheduled posts by campaign, and create and manage campaigns from the Planner tab.

When you edit a scheduled message, it now opens in the new compose experience by default.

An improved message planning experience on mobile lets you view, edit, and delete messages. You can also tap on a time to schedule a new message. The new features are available in the latest version of Hootsuite for iOS and Android.

Asana helps you organize your team’s plans, projects, and processes. With Asana for Hootsuite, you can select a social media post, add tags, followers, and a comment, and assign it directly to a Asana workspace.

Make your tweets accessible to your entire audience by adding descriptive text (alt text) for Twitter images when publishing in the new compose experience. This ensures that audiences using screen readers—as well as anyone with a slower internet connection—can understand your posts even if they can’t see the image. We fixed an issue that caused some users to see a “500 Error” message when connecting a social network.

iOS 12 compatibility issues have been resolved in the latest version of the Hootsuite app (version 3.21.0).

You can now filter by social networks within your inbox on iOS and Android devices.

You can now filter post tables in analytic reports by campaign so that you can review results only for those posts associated with your campaign.

You can now add or remove social networks when editing your scheduled posts in our new compose experience.

You can now save draft messages from our new compose experience, then access and edit them as needed later from the planner. Also, when you select a social network for your draft message, you’ll be able to collaborate on that draft message with any team members who also have access to that network.

We’ve integrated Google Ads into Hootsuite Ads—so you can now manage your search ads together with social.

With this new integration, you can:

• Manage search ads and social ads in one place

• Quickly allocate your budget to the best performing ads

• Simplify campaign creation and analysis across Facebook, Instagram, and Google

An issue where Pinterest and YouTube accounts were incorrectly displaying as pinned in the old Compose Message box has been resolved.

Apps can now read and create topics within Amplify, as well as add topics to posts when sending them through.

Customers can now view both an aggregated campaign summary and a per post summary in the overview area, so the overall campaign value can be seen, as well as the total ad spend per campaign.

While creating a new single or auto-boost campaign, customers may now select from Video Views or Reach to be optimized as their campaign objective.

While creating a new Autoboost campaign, users may now select from multiple triggers.

Social channels are now grouped by network, making it easier for customers to find and select multiple channels to filter their Inbox by.
